In the case iu which the owner of the pony Ladylike is claiming £SOOO from John Wren, tlio sports promoter, for allegel libel and detention of the pony, tho action hinges on the question whether Ladylike and Truelovv are two different ponies. Plainnif says that Ladylike is not Truelovo; defendant says sho is. Donahoo, manager of tho Victoria Park Racecourse, gave evidence ,that Truelove had been dyed chestnut, that the dye had been worn off the- body, but was still on the tail. Asked if he had seen horses dyed, he said lie had seen twenty or so dyed in Sydney. Ho was sorry to say most of them came Melbourne. !
