MEETING IX WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph — Press Association.) WELLINGTON,' Last Night. .After a lapse of eleven years, the Industrial Corporation of New Zealand met hero to-day. Mr Partridge, chairman of the Wellington Industrial Association, presided. ' The chairman, in his address, sard that ft was only right that a fair proportion of the attention of legislators should be directed to the, advancement of local industries.- The first essential was to create a demand for New Zealand made goods, and 'he urged upon manufacturers the necessity of keeping their goods up to a high standard of quality. Taking the industries as' a whole, he said that there had not been the advancement made during the past ten years ho would like to have seen, but he had great faith in the Dominion's future as a manufacturing nation. He particularly stressed the necessity of urging upon the Government to go in for a sound immigration policy. A motion brought forward by tjjo Auckland delegate, that representations be made to the Government to form arterial roads on all blocks of land, before offering the land to .settlers, was carried. It was decided that the Government be urged to establish a school of forestry.
