A BARQUE IN TROUBLE
DISMASTED IN A GALE. (By Tclwraoh—Association.) W DJjLIXGfTON, Last Night. Tho barquentine Wanganui (late Carla), owned by Hatrick and Co.. whie.li left Wanganui on Tliursdav for Sydney, timber laden, came to grief 011 Friday, when a squall camo up and she became dismasted. Captain Burquist and tho crew had a rather exciting time cutting the rigging away. The vessel drifted down the coast, an,d was driven across Cook Strait, when the steamer Kapiti sighted her and towed her into Wellington harbour on Saturday'evening. The damage i.y estimated at £IOOO or £I2OO.
