The revenue for tho year was £o,988.347, which constitutes a record, being £215,750 above the estimates. The expenditure was £5,965,692. Tihe estimated revenue for the current vear amounts to £6,268,302, and the expenditure to £6,202,633. The population last year increased by 22,998. including "13.699 immigrants, and tho amount spent on immigration was £161.655. The area of land settled was 6,730,101 acres, which is a record. It is estimated that 575 miles of new railways will bo opened this year. A policy of opening up the country will be vigorously pushed ahead.
