FATAL ACCIDENT
A BULLOOK-DBIVER KILLED. (By 'MeercDii— fresa Association.) GISBORNE, Last Night, j In the vicinity of the Matawhero , .saleyards yesterday, an accident occurred that terminated fatally. A man named Samuel Torr, aged 55, a. bullock driver for Mr J. Clark, was driving a team of bullocks along the ' road on his way to Te Arai. When passing the Mata\vhcro saleyards, the unfortunate man, who wns sitting or. : the shaft._ jumped off the waggon, presumably to turn his bullocks to I the side of the road. He .slipped, and fell under the front ivheel, and both wheels passed over his body, complete- | ly fracturing his thighs.- He war. re-j-moved to the public hospital, and tbumorning the unfortunate man passed away. The deceased informed the .doctor that it was purely an accide:."t. ;,nd. that nobody was to blame. " ■
