NEW ZEALAND SAVAGES.
The (Jlinfctdnitvli i'less, in mentioning the fact that cinematographic ."llms arc being prepared in New Zealand, for exhibition in other countries, expresses the hope that they will not bo of such a character as to convey to people abroad the impression that this Dominion is populated by bloodthirsty sivages. We cordially 'endorse the opinion of our Chris tchurcli contemporary. We would take the liberty of suggesting, also, that the proprietary of the ChVistchureh Press would be consulting the best interests of the Dominion, and demonstrating the sincerity of their daily publication, if they would refrain from publishing m their Christinas numbers highlycoloured illustrations cf Natives in their war-paint. The impression Ins 'iwn created in the minds-of the British public that this country is populated by cannibals, and that persons coming lier' l carry their lives in their han ,l ~. Such an impression cannot fail f ; !nw t detrimental effect upon 'ho Do ninion.
