J. C. WILLIAMSONS' Pr.NTCMJME. "SIXJ3AD THE SAILOR." The liox plan for "Sinbad the Sailor" will be opened at tho Dresden this morning. The latest theatrical bon-bon presented by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will bo pulled at the Town Hall, Mastorton, on Mondlay next, and many are the -good things promised for tho acceptance of the public. lb takes a record aggregation of Mr Williamson's stage people (seen behind tho scenes) and three full hours to tell the story of tho immortal Persian Mariner and his incursion into the fabled Valley of Diamonds. From the moment when tho curtain rises on the exquisite conception of a "Mermaid's Home" to its final fall on the gorgeous colours of "Lollipop Land" the stage presents a glorioiis succession of beautiful settings, frequently the metaporphosis of a. few seconds' black-out. Similarly the costuming; it lends significance to the term "Oriental opulence." while the "Diamond," "Roso" and "Lollipop bal-
lets are quite up to the best Williamson standard. The deck scene in the storm, that on the whale's back, and
the serpent of the valley are also evidence that the mechanics of the stage are in hands thoroughly competent. The thrill of the piece is provided by two rosebuds from the garden of undeniably pretty ballet roses swinging far out into the auditorium and scattering /lowers during their flight, be-
foro joining hands in mid-air to make a backward flight to the stage. A "big hit" comes in a weird illusion
sketch by the way in which the Sloed-
Os completely mystify all onlookers i and at the samo time keep them <n a simmer of laughter. To interpret the pantomime there has been engaged an unusually good company of comedian* and specialty poople. Messrs Pip Powell (from Drury Lane). (). E. Lonnard, Ch-trles Howard. William Winn, are English artsists of reputation Also Misses Florence Tmoson :>n<l Xo!l Finnis, who appear as the principal
"boy" and "girl." William Hassan and Misses Mario Eaton complete .-» cast that is rarely associated in a pantomime production.
