FOURTEEN BODIES RECOVERED FIFTY PERSONS INJURED. (Received September IS, 1.4.; p.m.) LONDON, September 17. The Chester-Liverpool express was derailed at Widnes, Lancashire. The occupants of two carriages perished. The wreckage was fired and mnny persons were roa«ted. Fourteen bodies have beer, recovered. Fifty persons were injured. ' The engine failed to take the points at a «teop incline when approaching Ditton in the overling, and dashed into the masonry of a bridge spanning the line. The cnrriiges dashed en to the station and collided with the platform. The first two'were reduced to matchwood. The third and fourth were wrecked and immediately set on fire. Appalling scones were witnessed. A huge heap of debris was in flames, while tho passengers, screaming in agony, were slowly roasting to death. Most of the bodies recovered were mutihted. One man was decapitated. Others had limbs torn oft*. A woman's face was burned away. The driver was killed, but the fireman was taken out alive, after being pinned under the engine for four lours. Most of the victims of tho calamity are Welsh. Many of tho bodies are unidentifiable. MANY BURNED TO CINDERS. FORTY INJURED. (Received Lnst Night,'l2.s o'clock."> LONDON, September 18. All the passengers in the fourth carriage were burned to cinders. Thirteen charred bodies? have been removed. tTwo of the injured died from burns in the hospital.
