CHILDREN'S PLAIN AND FANCY DRESS BALL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the General Committee having charge of the arrangements for the Children's Plain and Fancy Dress Ball, which is being organised with the objoct of raising funds for the furnishing of the no\i Nurse's Home at the Masterton Hospital,, was in the Teehnicai School at 8 o'clock last evening. About forty ladies and gentlemen were in attendance, and the ehairmariof the Hospital Board (Mr E. G. Eton) presided. The action of tho commit ceo in. booking the Town and Drill 'Halls to. the evening of the 27th ins!; was eonfirmed, also the action of the committee in issuing tickets for the function to bo held on that date. The price of the tickets wn.s fixed as follows: Is-per head for children of 16 years and under, and 2s Gd p'.'r head for adults and children over ](: years.
It was decided that the floor.shall be reserved for the use of the children up to 10 p.m., and that after 10 o'clock the older children and adults will carry on the programme. The followiug sub-committee were appointed to carry out the detail arrangements in connection with the function : Decorating committee, under the charge of Mr J. Archer; supper committee, in charge of Mesdames Cora dine and Cairns and Mii.s Hayward ; ticket and programme committee, in charge of Dr Cook: and a side-shows committee with Mr H. Milne a<-, convener. An executive committee wis also annointed for the ' pur.pose of supervising the arrangements made by the various sub-committees. Tt was resolved that the following ladies be asked to act as judges of the children's dresses and dancing: Morrison, Fisher, Bagloy and Anderson .
