THE UNREST IN BELFAST TRADE UNION READERS' FEARS. (Received September 18, 10.22 a.m.) LONDON, September 17. The Trade Union, .leaders are perturbed at the approach of Ulster Day, and the likelihood «f unrest forcing Messrs Harland and Wolff to close their shipyard at Queen's Island, thus compelling the payment by the unions of out-of-work benefit to the extent of thousands of pounds, and also entail tho necessity of the unions discriminating against unruly members. Some unions are considering the question of enrolling members as special contables to co-operate with the police in maint.iiniug order. OPENING THE CAMPAIGN. A DISQUIETING RUMOUR. (Received Last Night, 9.40 o'clock.) LONDON, September IS. Sir Edward Carson opens the Ulster campaign at Enniskillen to-day. A disquieting feature of the situation is the rapid increase in tho number of perrons owning revolvers. One dealer in the rationalist district of West Belfast has been selling a hundred revolvers weekly.
