Good business is the result of the very fine series now showing at the Electric Theatre (Foresters' Hail), and picture patrons who have not availed themselves of this .special treat should not fail to witness the programme of engrossing and interesting subjects, which will make, its final appearance before a Masterton audience to-night. "The Railroad Queen" - was a story well told of the degrading selfishness of a father who ruins his wife and deliberately Loses his child. This is one of the greatest dramas ever placed before, a Masterton audience, and should not bo missed.. Much interest is centred round J'The Railroad Engineer," an absorbing story by Kalem, in which the cool and clever acting on the part of achild wonder r; vividly portrayed. Many strong stories are told in a realistic manner, all gaining popular- . ity through their striking and telling scenes, building np a dramatic section of considerable merit. Many firm favourites are screened in the numerous comedies and comics, all doing their best to create amusement. This magnificent series of pictures will be ". shown for the last time ,to-night. "TWIXT WAR AND THE GIRL.-'' This evening tbe Masterton Picture Company will present an entiro change of program rue, when patrons of the popular picture theatre will be treated to' a unique series of the most modern and -up-to-date films. The star attraction is a magnificent military drama entitled "Twixt War and the Girl." A story of stirring romance during the stormy times of the . Franco-German War, th'is splendid film catches the-interest from the cur-tain-rise, and holds it in an intense grip till the piece is finished. . Thestory .tells of an engineer's love for a girl, who reciprocates, but has to contend with the opposition of her father. Finally, however, she overcomes all obstacles and her father gives his sanction. Her cousin is, however, bitterly jealous, and swears vengeance, When war is declared between Germany and France the lover is ordered to join his regiment at the front, but his sweetheart dnes not wish him to go, but duty calls an<l the .soldier goes to 'fight for his country; When" the war is in full blast the voung officer is betrayed, and is* condemned to die but escapes. Finally the lovers after many 'trials and tribulations are restored to each ' other. This magnificent film rmrtraTS the realistic, force of war. and bristles with exciting: and sensational enisodes.
