The residents of Kketahuna entertained Mr N. Nelson last evening, and niade him a presentation. Yesterday's arrivals at the Club Hotel, Masterton, included Messrs MeMasters, Nelson, Johnston. Clouston, Webb, Young, Custow, Reid, ( Fraser and Hyde (Wellington). Mr Clive M. Smith, eldest son of- { Mr William Smith, managing director of Smith and Smith, Ltd.. of Wellington, died suddenly on Monday afternoon. ' Mr Arthur Yarncy, organist, technical instructor and secretary of the Wangamii Technical College, has been appointed general secretary of the Wellington Y.M.C.A. Mr A. A. Hint/, has resigned his position as Director of Technical Education under the Nelson Education Board. The Rev Robert Stewart, pastor of St. John's Presbyterian Church at Greymouth, died suddenly on Thursday last. At the conclusion of his address in Mastorton on Monday night, the Rev Watts-Ditchfield was presented with a greenstone paper-knife, in honour of hisjhirthdav, which he celebrated yesterday. The presentation was made by Mr G. R, Sykes, M.P. A quiet wedding took place at St. Peter's (Anglican) Church, Pahiatua, on Monday afternoon, when Miss Evelyn Hiekson. daughter of Mr C. Hickson, of Wellington, was married to Mr R. W. de Montalk, of Auckland. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a brown cloth coat and skirt, and a. tagel straw hat trimmed with wallflowers. She was attended by Miss Morris, of Wellington, who I wore a blue costume and picture hat. The best man was the Rev Mr Tobin, vicar of Pongaroa.
