The hearing of the charges of "fol-lowing-up" and annoying free labourers, preferred against W. E. Parry (President of the Union), W. McLcn--11011 (Vice-President), J. Melhouse. and Charles Opie, was continued to-day, the time of the Court being occupied by the exhaustive cross-examination of the police witnesses by the defendants. At different stiges of the case the defendants intimated to the Bench that they had abundant evidence, which they would call later, to prove that the police statements werp absoutely incorrect. The hearina: of the remaining police evidence will bo continued to-night.
