A tragic mishap occurred at Manui, a. few miies from Mangaweka, on Saturday, the victim being a young unmarried man named Lawrence Geange. Ho was engaged in bush-felling, and a rimu tree on which he had been working, fell against a rata, and broke the branches. A portion of a limb struck Geange on the head, fracturing his skull. He was removed the residence of his uncle, Mr A. Geange, and died three hours afterwards. The deceased, who was only 22 vears of age. was a member of a. family well known and respected in the Rangitikoi district, being a son of Mr Edward Geange, of Hunterville.
