! [jFrom Our Own Gorrapondcnt.} MArKK'EYILLE WEST. The social committee met last night to make tinjii arrangements for tho concert and dance which will take place 011 the lOinsL. in the old .school. An excellent programme has been arranged consisting of songs, duets, recitations, step-dancing, cornet and violin solos. A lino night is all that is required to assure an enjoyable evening.
Mrs J. Anderson, who lias been sitifering from plueresy for some time, lias improved but little. I he. district mirso is now in attendance. The local dairy factory opened on Monday 2nd, and is now working daily with a fair supply. The spring weather of the last week should causo a rapid rise in the milk yield, as the pastures are recovering, and looking very well. A slight shock of earthquake was felt ab 10.3 o'clock last night. Lambing is now well mi the way, and the weather i.s all in favour ol high percentage.
