CHRISTCHURC'H, Last Night. ; The New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Tournament was continued on Saturday in fino weather, and in tho presence of a large number of spectators. . The following are the results of the day's matches: — A Section. —Nelson 2 v. Canterbury 0; Wairarapa 1 v. Poverty Bay 0; Manawatu 2 v. Ota go 0; Taranaki n bye. B Section. —Canterbury A 3 v. Auckland 2; Buller 2 v. West Coast 0; Wanganui 0 v. Hawke's'Bay 4.; Wellington bye. Tho match between Wairarapa and Poverty Bay was specially k.ecn, and wa'i useful in showing how good hockey will prevail against superior size, weight and strength. Matters were very even all tho way, and tho contest from beginning to end was one of method and skill against strength, and less speed. It was touch ami go all tho while whether Poverty Bay would not score and make a draw. They tried very bard and often looked as though they would be able to i do it. However, scoring was not their strong point, and they may be congratulated upon not being beate.i by n bigge." margin. The following are tho positions of the various teams after Saturday's games: A Section —Wajtfarapa 12; Poverty Bay 8; Nelson 7; Canterbury 5 ; Manawatu 5 ; Otago 4 ; Taranaki 1. B Section—Hawke's Bay 12; Canterbury A 9; Wanganui 7j Auckland 7; Wellington 5; Buller 2; West Coast 0. Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa will play off for the championship this afternoon.

Tho ninth inter-provincial hockey match between Otago and Canterbury war; ulaved at C-arisbrook in bleak weather on Saturday. The first spell was keenly contested and ended in each side scoring three goals. The second, spell waa full of interest and. excitement each side scoring two more goals and the match ended in a draw; five goals all.
