MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUST
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust was lie:d last evening, there being present— Messrs R. Krahagen (chairman), W. H. Jackson, T. Wagg, H. C. Robinson, O. N. C. Prngnell, D. Caselberg, and T. Michel!. Mr G. It. Sykes, M.P., wrote notifying the Trust that consideration of the "Ward" petition would take place on September 28th. Mr A. It. Bunny wrote stating that he,had waited on the Petitions Committee on behalf of the Trust as instructed oil. the 28th ult. and since then he had been advised by Mr G. it. Sykes that tho committee had no recommendation to make to Parliament. The Rev Doan McKenna wrote applying for a donation towards tarring and sanding at St. Mary's Convent aucl.. St. Patrick's School. . It was decided that the matter ho referred to tho Finaneo Committee to report on. An applicant, wrote offering to..take over one of tho Trust properties on a ten years' lease. It was decided that the matter be left to the Building Committee to report on. A letter was received from the Masterton District High School Committee congratulating tho Trustees upon the stand it took in dealing with the question of capitation grants embodied in the Robinson High School re port. —Itece i ved. Tiie treasurer's report, showing a debit balance of £7lO 4s lid, was read and adopted. It was stated in the Building Committee's report that it would bo well to intimate to holders ot any 'rights of hoardings that one year from date the Trust will require to have hoardings cleared away. Messrs Michell and Caselberg did not consider it advisable in tho interests of the Town Hall that the hoardings should be removed. On the motion of Mr Jackson it was decided that the words "will require" be altered to "may require" in the Building Committee's report. Mr It. Brown wrote offering to supply patent lire extinguishers for tho Town Hall. It was decided that the matter bo referred to the Town Hall Committee.
An application from the occupier ot a Trust property to have, a bathroom put in the house was referred to the Building Committee. The Inspector of Nuisances wrote requiring that an anti-syphon afc the I)nek of-the Age office be repaired. The chairman ported out that the work had already teen done. The imports of the Building, finance and Town Hall Committees vrcro read and adopted. Accounts amounting to £3OG f>« 3d wore passed for payment.
