THE NORDON CUP.
By defeating Bullet- Hockey ■ representatives yesterday, and so retaining the coveted Nordon Clip, the Wairarapa Hockey representatives have concluded the most successful season in the history of the game in this district. At .the beginning of the season tli®, Wrt'rarapa- te-am proceeded to Palmerston, and after an excellent exhibition of hockey succeeded in bringing the trophy to •Masterton, by defeating Manawatii, the holders. Since then the Wairarapa team defended their title , against Tarannki, Poverty Bay, Horowhenua and Bulled defeating each challenger by a substantial margin. The result of these games is that hockey enthusiasts would like to see the Nordon Cup holders pitted against some of the "big" unions, such as Wellington. There are not a few who hold to the opinion that, as at present constituted, the Wairarapa representative hockey team would hold their own with any of the bigger union terms. The season, of course, is now well advanced, but a match, say, with Wellington, would prove a very big attraction, and prove a fitting conclusion to a. highly successful season.
