THE WOOL MARKET.
Tn their report on the third series of London wool csalcs, held iii July, Messrs Windeler & Co, the well-known I wool-brokers, state that the tendency of pricey was for the finer wools to appreciate more than the lower crossbreds. They conclude by s.jying:— "•Competition has been well maintained all through, though the extreme prices at one time ruling wore net obtainable always at the close, but this is hardly .surprising in face of the superior character of the offerings. The Home trade have been tho principal operators, though all other-section;! have given due support. Prospects appear favourable for the maintenance of prices, looking to the -usual scantiness of stock at this time of the year and tho general expectation of short supplies during the coming season. The two concluding series cf the year, "with no limit as to quantity, : are fixed •to -commence on. September 24th, and November 2C>th respectively ;. for the former 110.000 to T20,000 bales may I be available."
