IMrA. W. Hogg declared yesterday | tha* he wpuid fight strenuously "agHogg will be supported in that fight' by ourselves, and by a la*ge section of the community. He should remember,' however,.that the secondary.classes,:;* the District High School are not largely patronised by the children of the poor. If the District High School were disestablished and converted in-to-an Agricultural High School, the children would! be given the same facilities as they are given to-day, the only difference being tha 1 ; instead of being prepared for the University they would be prepared for the serious avo- ' cations of rural life. "We are pleased to know that Mr W. H. Jackson, headmaster of the District High School, is in favour of disestablishing his own school, provided an agricultural high school takes its plaoa.
