THE GOVERNOR'S VISIT
AND THE OVERSEAS CLUB. His Excellency tlio Governor (Lord Islington) mil arrive in Masterton, by the mail train v from Wellington this morning. Ho will bo met at the rail-' way station by his Worship the Mayor, Captain Waters (Dominion, organiser for the Overseas Club) and local members of the Club. He will bo driven to Knox Church, where sin organ recital will be given by Mr Purcell Webb. The recital will be open to the public, who are requested to be in then" seats prior to the arrival of his Excelleucy. At 1 o'clock Lord Islington will bt> entertained at the Club Hotel. The Mayor will preside, and probably one or two toasts will be propased. At 2 o'clock his Excellency, will officially open the local branch of the Overseas Club at the Exchange Hall. The public are cordially invited to attend the function. Lord Islington is well worth hearing on any subject, but when he discusses Imperialism he becomes specially interesting. Tills will probably be the 'last occnsion. upon, "which his Excellency will visit Masterton, prior to his departure for the Old Country.
