A DROWNING FATALITY
(By Tekoravh—Prm Association./ CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At the inquest on the body of Harold (Bobbie) Smith a medical man who made a post mortem examination stated that he could find no fracture of any limb, nor sign of violence. Ho ascribed death to drowning. Emily Smith, the boy's stepmother, said that she last saw him between 4 and 5 p.m. on July 12th. Ho wan then at home in the kitchen, and witness gavo liim a cup of tea. His brother Ernest was also at home. Witness saw nothing more of him. Witness identified the body in the morgue by the clothes. She could.not account in any way for the boy getting into the river. Ernest Smith, an eleven-year-old brother of-deceas-ed, stated" that Bobbie was not in the habit of going out by himself. After other evidence had been taken, the Coroner recorded a verdict of "found drowned."
