Thfi visit of His Excellency the .Gover--1 nor to Masterton to-day will l»e me morable on account of tho imperialistic character of the function in which he will participate. Lord Islington has played an important part in tho establishment of the Overseas Club in New Zealand. The chief object of thus Club is to cement the ties of kinship Between Britishers throughout the Empire, and ITiji Excellenqy has boonquick to realise the importance of-, such a movement. It is gratifying to find that tlie very best of our citizens are identifying themselves with the institution, which has alreadjy assiyned immense proportions in the oversea* possessions. The speech which will be delivered by Lord Islington this afternoon will remove any apprehensions which mny exist concerning tho political character of tlie organisation of which he is tho distinguished head in this, Dominie"
