SHOCKING RAILWAY ACCIDENT
ON MAIN TRUNK LINE
PASSENGERS SERIOUSLY INJURED.

AUCKLAND, Last Night. The Taumarunui correspondent of the Herald telegraphs that a serious accident occurred on the Taringamutu train to-day. A truck containing a number of passengers was overturned, through collision with pigs on the. line. ' Five persons were seriously injured, and several slightly hurt. The names of the injured are. Rev Hanby (broken leg), Miss Hanbv (injured back), Mrs Burn Bell (broken wrist). Mr Vince (broken leg and serious internal injuries). Mr Parker (badly cut head), Mrs Hanby., her sister, Miss McFarland, and Mr A. Cook escaped with a few scratches and bruises. The injured people were brought into Taumarunui this evening.
