DISASTROUS FIRE

AT BUTTE CITY, MONTANA

TRAIN" WRECKED

NEW YORK, September 2.

At Butte City, 31onta.ua, a disastrous fire wiped out the business distric of the city.

A special train wliich was summoned from Anaconda way derailed while rushing to tho. assistance of the firefighters. The engineer and fireman were killed, and tl:e wreck of the train burned.

During the fire in the city a building collapsed, burying the chief of the fire brigade. When ho was rescued he was found to be paralysed and dying.

Other firemen were seriously injured. Extensive damage was done beforethe fire was conquered.
