MORTALITY IN EWES

IN THE MASTER-TON DISTRICT.

Reports from outlying districts of tho Masterton electorate indicate that there has been a considerable mortality in owes during the last few weeks. This has been due to the complaint known as "protrusion" in laming-. Tho cause of the complaint is overfa tness of the ewes. In many cases settlers have not troubled to seek a remedy, but have destroyed the ewes. The Agricultural Department issued a leaflet some years ago dealing with the subject, and this shows how ewes should be treated when suffering from "protrusion." The leaflet is, we understand,, still in circulation, and should bo procured by settlers.
