THE SCHOOL CADETS.
The Minister of Education has widely decided upon a reorganisation of the sehood cadet, system. Tie intends making scientific physical exercises the basis for future training. The bigger hoys may, however, be required to do some military drill—squad drill and perhaps some company drill. The more of the physical exercises and the less of the "military drill, the better will it bf» for the youngsters- and the nation. There is an almost universal concensus of opinion that the primary 'school is the place to equip the youth mentally and physically, and not to instil ideas o? warfare and bloodshed. It is time enough to teach the young idea to shoot, when it appreciates the- duties of good citizenship.
