A WOMAN'S DEATH
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

DANNEVIRKE, Laet Night
The death of Mrs Annio Mary Beck, wife of Matthew Peter Beck, a farmer at Norsewood, occurred on Saturday morning., Details to hand show that Mrs Swan was found lying on the floor of her bedroom dead.
The discovery of the body was #>ado by the husband, who went to Mr John Mulholland, his brother-in-law who resides some half a mile away, and acquainted him with what had been found.
On investigation, it transpired that there were marks upon the body the presence of which would require *ome explanation. Constable McLeod, of Ormondville, was communicated with, went to South Norsewood, made inquiries and as the result thereof he arrested, about 8.30 a.m.. tho husband on suspicion of having caused tho death of his wife.
Beok was taken to Ormondville, where an inquest will be opened by Mr W. Dobson, acting coroner. The
inquest will probably be adjourned after being formally opened in order to permit the police to make investigation into the circumstances of tho affair
It is alleged that the question of drink will enter into the investigations at the inquest. It is expected that Detective Kemp will be ;«nt from Napier to investigate the matter.
