NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE.
Writing to a friend in Dunedin from Monkton, in Ayrshire, Mr A. McKertoiv, of Dunedin, who is at present on a visit to the Old Country, lias the following to say with regard to New Zealand produce at Home: —"I went to the cattle market here and saw bullocks sold for over £3O and shorn sheep at £2 10s, owing to the dry season last year. I see from the papers that New Zealand lamb is quoted at over 6d per lb wholesale so tho outlook for your farmers .s somewhat bright. I was surprised. when in conversation with some of the farmers here, to bo informed that they were selling their milk, and were buying New Zealand butter and cheese for their own use. I was also pleased to note that they praised the quality of it as excellent. The night T arrived at Kilmarnock, in company with two Canterbury farmers, we had NewZealand butter for tea. When .n Glasgow T was informed by some of the leading men in the cheese and Vitter trade that if New Zealand exporters could keen up their supply all the year round thev could command higher prices than did the Danish exporters. T tasted a piece of New Zealand cheese, and as the gentleman to whom T was speakinsr remarked, it wa;s just' about perfect."
