ALLEGED SHEEP STEALING

Two Maoris named Huake Hokepa and Reuben Puha were arrested at llakautahi by Constable McLeocl at down on Sunday on a charge of sheepstealing. The scene of the depredations is in a. lonely part of the gorge of the Makaihelu River, and some interesting facts are likely to be disclosed. The accused nnpearcd before the Court at Ormondville on Monday, and were remanded till September 2nd, bail being granted in £SO and two sureties of £SO each. .
