Messrs James Macintosh and Co., report having held their usual weekly salo in their Mastorton, (Waipoua) sale yards on Wednesday, August 28th,' when they offered a good yarding of cattle and .sheep well above advertised numbers, which met with fair competition, and most of tho yarding was sold at late rates. Quotations are as follows : Forward ewes Iks ()d 2-tooth wethers (small) 14s, hoggets Us 3d to 14s Id, store ewes 8s Gd, 3-vear steers £6 Is, 2-i-yoar steers £5 10s to £5 17s Gd, springing heifers £5 13s, backward springing heifers £4 to £4 13s, springing cows £4 13s to £5 ss, fat cows £4 15s to £5 12s Gd, yearling steers £2 17s Gd.
MASTER/TON STOCK SALE. Messrs .Dalgcty and Co. report on their Sol way sale as follows: Sheep came forward well up to advertised prices all lines of which met with a readv sale. We have pleasure m reporting a total clearance at auction prices showing an increase all round on recent market reports. Our entry consisted of some particularly nice linos of hoggets and store wethers. A special entry of 200 hoggets offered on account of Mr Y. J. Brooks was much admired, and realised lbs Id, this being top price for hoggets at these yards this year. A line of 360 „ood woolled store wethers nought 18s' 10d. Cattle also sold well. Hie following is a list of prices: Sheep-Black-face hoggets (small) 10s /d, medium hoggets, 13s 3d to 13s 6d, best lionets 15s 6d to 16s lid, mixed 2tooth (small) 13s 9d, 2-tooth wethers 16s Id to 18s 10d. Cattle—Cows in calf £3 10s, backward heifers in calf £3 12s to £4 10s, 2-year steers £4 19s, fat cows £7 to £8 3s.

Cattle sold readily, but sheep met a rather draggin" sale Extra prime heavy bullocks £l2" 15s, £l2 end £ll 12s Gd, primo bullocks £lO 2s 6d to £lO 12s 6d, light £9 nrimo cows and heifers £8 to £8 17s Gd, lighter £7 to £7 16s, vealers 33s to 345, extra prime wethers 25s 7d, prime wethers 22s to 235, prime ewes 20s 4d, 20s Bcl to 21s.
