WANGANUI. Last Night.
The triangular inter-college tourney was continued to—day, the second match being played between Wellington and Christ's Colleges. The weather was ideal, and tho ground perfect. The attendance was: again very large. The first spell, which was slightly. in favour of Christ's College, ended with Wellington three to nil from' a penalty goal. The second half w;is all in favour of Christ's College, but they could not score, principally through the strong defence of th«v Wellingto. and their own backs' play, which lacked finish. There was no score'this spell, the game thus ending in a win for Wellington by three points to nil. The last game of the tourney will be played on Friday, wben a- "dinffdong" go between Wellington and Wangaiiiii is expected.
REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. ROTORUA, Last Niglit. Tho Rotorua Rugby representatives met and defeated Taranaki Maoris this afternoon. The local combination was too good, and played well throughout, their passing at times being perfect. The Taranaki forwards were heavy and fast. In tho first spell Rogers scored for Rotorua and Martin converted, and Ford (Taranaki) scored an unconverted try. The first quarter ended Rotorua 5, Taranaki 0, and the second Taranaki 6, Rotorua
5. On resuming play Rogers again scored two tries for Rotorua and Taranaki scored a try and kicked a goal from a mark, the final scores beings Rotorua 11, Taranaki 9.
OTACO v. SOUTH. CANTERBURY
TTMARU, Last Night
A fast and interesting match was witnessed by a large crowd on tho Caledonian ground to-day between. South Canterbury and Otngo representatives. The South Canterbury men had much the best of the game, and won by 13 points to nine.
