NEW PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS
THE WORK SUSPENDED
(By Teiegr^vh — Press Association.)
WELLINGTON. Last Night,
Ponding the determination by Cabinet whether tho scheme for the construction of the new Parliament Buildings commenced by the Mackenzie Government is to be continued, or whether some other plan will lie followed, all work on the laying of the foundations has been stopped. Work is still proceeding on the making of the lawn and drives, and tlie widening of Bowen Street; but this will soon be completed. Already many hands have been dispensed with, and in the near futu'ro it is possible there will be even less activity about the grounds than there is to-dav.
