AGRICULTURAL HIGH SCHOOL.
The point has been raised as to Avhotber the institution of an Agricultural High School in Mastertou, on the lilies of those of Victoria and New South Wales, would deprive the girls of their secondary education. We hasten to say emphatically that it will not. In the Victorian Agricultural High Schools the paramount consideration is, of course, the imparting of: a sound instruction in rural pursuits, so that the pupils may qualify, cither for the Agricultural College or the occupation they intend pursuing. Pro-
vision is made for those who intend following professional pursuits, and the girls arc taught domestic economy and-'other things of a vocational charactor. Tliis class of school is surely ono which would appeal to a rural community-. A High School, even with an agricultural bias, is out of the question, for it would not be supply* ing the general demands of an agricultural and pastoral district.
