- WAIHI, -Last Night. The Karangahake strike is off, and the men have resumed work. . At a meeting of miners, a deputation was appointed to wait on the manager of the Talisman Mino, to ask him to allow the men to go on to work that afternoon, also to submit the names of.applicants' of engine-drivers to tho Union before employing them. The first request 1 was acceded to, but the second request was refused. The management intimated that in future, only engine-drivers who were not opposed to tho Thames Miners' V r.'on would be employed. The mine battery are now in full swing
