PURITY OF SEEDS.
The committee appointed by the recent Canterbury Agricultural Conference to consider the question of securing purity of seed recommends that legislation be introduced, prohibiting the sale of seed containing noxious weeds-;' that every bag of seed, five pounds and upwards, should carry a .certificate of purity; that samples be taken .from time to time and submitted to the Government Analyst for report, and that the analysis bo published. These recommendations will doubtless be clorseU'by other A. and P. Associations in the Dominion. The distribution of impure seed has been a source of very great annoyance to farmers, rwid ■legislation to protect purchasers'is' an absolute necessity.
