THE CHEESE OUTPUT
OF WAIRARAPA DISTRICT. A return" presented by Mr T. Moore, of Carterton, to the Minister of Agriculture on Saturday last, showed that the value of the cheese manufactured in the Wairarapa and Forty-mile Bush districts during last season was a« follows:—Carterton district. £94.559 10s 8s ; Greytown district, £20,327 6s lid ; Featherston district, £62,350 18s fid; north of Waingawa River, £65,835 9s 3d; total, £243,073 5s 3d. With butter added, it is fair to assume that the dairy industry was responsible last year for the introduction of £400,000 to the district.
