ANNUAL REUNION

BANKERS, LAWYERS, STOCK AND STATION ,AGENTS. A pleasant function was held in the Masterton Club Hotel last evening, when the Bankers, Lawyers, Stock and Station Agents and Dentists held their sixth annual reunion. Mr J B. Henry occupied the chair, and the various banks, law offices, stock and station firms and dentists were all fully represented, upwards of eighty persons sitting down to the excellent table prepared by Host Crass. After the- appetising repast was duly done justice to, a long toast list was honoured. Several of the speakers in referring to the game of football made special reference to the splendid performance of this year's Wairarapa representatives who had defeated Bush and Nelson, the latter by a very big margin, and crowned their efforts by defeating Taranaki. one of the foremost combinations' in New Zealand. The performances of the representatives, the speakers said, were all the more pleasing after the unfair criticism which had been levelled at the selectors, especially by one literary critic. It was pleasing that the judgment of the selectors had ■ ow been'fullv vindicated.

Mr M. J. Iggulden. captain of the losers, presented the champion challenge silver cup to Mr R. McKenzie, captain of the winners. The latter, in accepting the handsome trophy, on behalf of the Banks and Law team, said that he was quite sure it would be many years before it would be taken away from them. Mr C. Porrv, in a happy speecli presente.d Mr T. Jordan with a very handsome silver kettle, as the prize for the winner of the "Bosses" race. Mr Jordan said that lie would always regard the trophy as a very cherished possession. The opinion was freely expressed hat the match plaved on the show grounds yesterday and the annual reunion were the most successful yet held. The singing of "Anld Lang Syno" terminated a most happy gathering.
