CLEARING SALE.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., report having held a very successful clearing sale of dairy cowsjit their Greytown saleyardy on account of Mr Sven Poison. There was a good attendance of buyers ancl competition w;v<> keen for all good early calvers, prices" ruling for this class at about a £lO average. Backward, and late calvers were not inquired for. Following is a' list of prices: enrly calvers, £8 to £l2 17s 6d; late calvers, £4' to £5 10s»; store cows, £2 to £3 6s; yearling heifers, £3 6s, 2-year heifers*, £4 to £4 9s; bull, £3. Account other vendors we sold forward heifers in calf, £G; backward heifers £4 l()s; spring cows, £5 10s, £6 10s to £7. WAIPOUA SALE. Messrs James Macintosh and Co., report having held their usual weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) sale yards on Wednesday, 2lst August, when they offere da yarding of sheep well above advertised numbers which met with good competition and practically .the whole yarding was cleared at prices right up to late rates. Quotations are as foi!3owr::;—Sheep : 2th. wethers (small) 15s 7d, 1.5s f)d to lGs 3d; woolly hoggets 13s Id; shorn hoggets flow condition) 8s 7d, 10s to 10< 6d; 4, 6, and 8-tooth ewes in lamb (medium condition) 16s; cull ewes in. lamb 7» Otl.
