A DROWNING FATALITY
(Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The white ensign of the Antarctic exploration ship Terra NovaT at Lyttelton, was flown at half-mast to-day as a mark of respect for the. late W. Brissenden, who was drowned on Saturday night by falling off a wharf at the French Pass. Mr Brissenden was a stoker on the Terra Nova, and came out from England in. that ship in 1910. He made the two voyages to the Antarctic. He was a member of the party which, since June, has been carrying out survey work at Admiralty Bay, at the eastern approach to the French Pass. The late Mr Brissenden was a popular member of the ship's company, and his untimely death has caused great regret to his shipmates.
