Tho division taken in the Houye of Representatives last night shows that the leasehold party in tho House is in a hopeless minority. By 52 votes to 14 a motion affirming the principle of disposing of all Croivn lands in future hy leasehold only ivjg rejected. It will be satisfactory to the Government to know just where it stands on this-, question, and the division, should clear the way for land legislation which will he acceptable to the country. A feature of the debnte last night was the complete somersault turned by Mr G. W. Rusyell, a former Minister, on the question.
