It says much, for the enthusiasm of Wainara.pa teachers in their work that several score of them can be found once a month foregoing their day ft recreation—Saturday—to attend lectures in Masterton by pronrinent educationalists. Addresses, such as that delivered by inspector liakewell on Saturday last must have a wholesome offec-t in broadening the intelligence of the teachers, and must eventually be reflected upon the system of imparting knowledge to the young.
