TEACHING THE TEACHERS.
It says much, for the enthusiasm of Wainara.pa teachers in their work that several score of them can be found once a month foregoing their day ft recreation—Saturday—to attend lectures in Masterton by pronrinent educationalists. Addresses, such as that delivered by inspector liakewell on Saturday last must have a wholesome offec-t in broadening the intelligence of the teachers, and must eventually be reflected upon the system of imparting knowledge to the young. It is very gratifying to find the teachers anxious to add to their store of knowledge, and it is equally plea gin g to find men of the highest educational equipment willing to sacrifice their own comforts for the betterment of their follows.
