MASTERTON TO WAIPUKURAU
MEETING AT PONGAROA
A meeting of'the Masterton-Waipu-kurau Railway League was held on Saturday, August 10th, and was attended by a good number of members. Delegates to the meeting at Masterton gave their repo'rt, which was considered very satisfactory. The delegates were accorded a vote r.f thanks. Correspondence was read from Whakataki and Tinui, wishing to open branches of the League.—lt wa* resolved that Messrs Liverton and" Holbrooke attend meeting and explain the objects of the League. A letter was read from the Napier Chamber of Commerce, expressing sympathy with the League. A motion that the name of Masterton be deleted, and the route left open, was defeated on the voices. The secretary announced that three districts in. the northern end of the proposed route wished to have branches established.—lt was resolved that the secretary visit the district mentioned. Amended rules were considered, 'ind the secretary was authorised to have ti'sr same printed.
