ACTION OF POLICE JUSTIFIED
(Received Last Night 10.20 o'-clock.) LONDON, August-16. Messrs Chester and Jones, metropo- ' litan magistrates, in a report on the recent strike disturbances at Rotherhithe, justified the action of the police in grappling with the riots. , The report finds that in the dispersal of the crowds;, .in the side streets some of the polieo were guilty of excesses. ,
