Members-of Rifle Clubs will bo pleased to know th.it the Governme.vt proposes to grant free passes over the railways, up to a distance of 100 miles, to all shootists attending rifle meetings. This concession will bs very much appreciated by tiio Rifle Clubs of tho Dominion. When all is said and done, the most important consideration in our system of defence, is -efficiency in rifle shooting. Jo secure this efficiency there is no better .training-ground than the Association meetings. The Government, therefore, is only doing its duty by the Dominion when it encourages attendance at those gatherings.
