MARTINBOROUGH RAILWAY

DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. A deputation from Martinborough, introduced by Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P., waited upon the Minister of Public Works yesterday and urged the construction of a railway from Featherston to Martinborough. 'The Minister, in reply, admitted the claims of Martinborough to consideration. He stated, however, that the matter was one for Cabinet to consider. He promised to bring the claims of Martinborough before the Government when the Railways Authorisation Bill was under consideration.
