SYDNEY, August 12.
It is stated that prior to the running of the Australian Steeplechase on Saturday, the winner, Scrutineer, was offered to a wouldbe buyer for £3OO, with his engagement in the race thrown in.
The prospective buyer declined to give more than £250.
