TOWN HALL. ' < THE PLAY "MjRS McSWEENEY." Next Friday- evening, August 16th, an Australian musical farcical comedy, "Mrs McSvi-eeney," i>a three acts and a- bit, by the late Thos. E. Spencer and Rose Taylor, will be produced for the first time in Mnet-erton, under the direction of "Playwrights- Limited." Mi&s Maggie. Moore hag been. engaged for the title role, and that ar-v'.-. tist is enthusiastic in regard- to it.. The company is a particularlystrong one, headed by Miss Maggie • Moore. .In support there are"" many - artists familiar in their past successes, including Messrs E. E. Russell, Arthur Shirley, James Morse, B. Franklin, and Misses Beatrice Esmond,, Edith Lewis, Marie Bruce, Clarissa Aviet, Elsie Ronnie and Florrie Dean. The season is limited to one night. Box plan will he open at the Dresden on Monday. Popular prices are announced. MASTERTON PICTURE COMPANY "THE FLYING CIRCUS." To-night the Masterton Picturo Company will launch another of their special star programmes at the Town Hall, when the big attraction of th© evening will be the sensational star drama "The Flying Circus." In this magnificently conceived phpto-play, • which' represents the latest effort of the cinematography world, some mar- | veilous feats arc performed, including acts of wonderful daring, and through/ j the whole runs a beautiful vein of love I which adds to the attractiveness of this , brilliant drama. The remaining films ' represent "a splendid selection, and | include many of flie latest productions of Eulropean and American manufactures. The scenics are a.-magMficcn lot, and portray much oi, the f.nest sec n- | ery in various parts of the world, and j include Australian Gazette, and "An- | oient Rome," while "Birth of a Dragon Fly" is a highly educative Pathe j film. The dram-as include "The Heart I of Man" and "Female of the Species/" two splendidly conceived* plays ofgreat dramatic force. "The Painter, and the Pigs," "Spiritualistic Convert" .and "His First Law Suit" 1 are clever comics, which will keep the audience in high good humour. Thisprogramme is one of the best selections that have yet been screened nr Masterton, and should prove a great; attraction to picture-lovers. THOMPSON-PAYNfc FJCTURES. AT THE FORESTERS' HAIL. The Foresters' Hall was well filled last evening when the 'current pro gramme was figuin shown to an appreciative audience. "The Story of i> Circus," "Children Who Labour," a net "The Hobo" were three of the finest dramas ever seen in Masterton. Jhe comedies and sccnies were a splendid lot, and taken altogether the- program me is a particularly i'i'/ie on>\ The children's matinee will take place this afternoon, and the programme will be shown for the last time tonight.
