A BREACH OF ETIQUETTE.
Some of our readers may be surprised that we have abstained from publishing. the report of the committee sef Up to enquire into the question of higher education for Masterton. Our sole excuse is the fact that the report has already been published elsewhere, presumably on the authority of some interested person. We absolve the Secretary of the Trust Lands Trust from all responsibility; but we should like to state that the publication cf the report bafore it canio officially before the trustees was a gross violation of .those principles which are supposed to govern, the acitons of well-conducted public bodies. An affront has been offered the trustees and the public in this matter, and has been very properly resented. It i.a. pity that public busincc-fj cacnot be transacted without resort to acts cf meanness.
