HOSPITAL COMMITTEE
MONTHLY MEETING. The Masterton Hospital Committee held its monthly meeting on Tuesday morning, there being presentMessrs J. B. Keith (chairman), I). J. Cameron, W. Fisher, J. C. Ewington and Miller. It was decided to lay the gas on to the nurses' home. Dr Cowie forwarded an application for the admission to the Buchanan Home of two patients who are at present inmates of the hospital. It was decided that the application be recommended to the Board for favourable consideration. The return of patients for the period of March 31st to July 31st was reported as follows:—In the hospital on March 31st 15, admitted since S6, discharged 76, died 4, in the hospital on July 31st 21. The collective days stay was 2573 days and the total expenditure was £952 6s_ 6d giving a" average dailv costs of 7s 4sd. Mr M. J. H. Murray was appointed visiting memberjor the month: : The treasurer reported as follows: Receipts—Patients' fees £7 7s 4d. .rrant fiom Hospital Board £287 7s 6d, other receipts 7s 9d, total £295 2s -,<&.
